Layered State Quarters

I know the answer is nothing but maybe I am wrong, how much are these quarters worth..?

So those quarters I keep seeing on QVC and HBC the danburry mint or the franklin mint one of the two are offering the entire state quarter set (in mint condition) for a decent price but what get's me as a collector is the fact that they go off and "layer" these quarters in 24k gold. Which in my opinion ruins the nusamist value. Aren't I right???

Anytime a coin is gold plated or colorized it is considered damaged by the coin collecting community. QVC and the rest are out to hook the non collector or beginner. They had to curtail the bit about the items being a good investment due to the Feds getting complaints and getting on their tails. It is like buying anything these days, do your homework before buying. I must admit I saw a colorized set of state quarters in a nice real wood frame that was very impressive. It would be a nice thing to pass down in ones family, but as a souvenir type thing of the state quarter program, not an investment.
