The silver paint doesn't seem to come off as easily as in other products, which is definitely a plus. I am somewhat dissapointed however by the fact that it has 4 buttons (instead of the traditional 3) and requires blowing quite a bit harder (than a real trumpet would) in order to produce any sound. Comparisons aside (afterall, we bought this as a toy for a 5 year-old), my kid loves it and we find it far superior to any other toy trumpet he's ever had (this being his third).
